Former Negros Oriental congressman Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. remains in severe pain following an appendectomy and is currently under round-the-clock medical supervision, according to his lawyer.

Ferdinand Topacio, Teves’ legal counsel, told the media on Sunday that Teves is experiencing intense post-surgery complications. “His pain reached a 10 out of 10 this morning, requiring the care of a pain management specialist,” Topacio shared.

Teves, who underwent surgery at the Philippine General Hospital last week, is on strong pain medications and cannot eat or drink normally. Instead, he is receiving nutrition through intubation.

“He is under constant monitoring to manage his current condition and prevent any further complications,” Topacio added.

The former lawmaker was transferred to PGH from Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig last Tuesday after complaining of severe abdominal pain.
