The supposed CEO of an auto trading company was arrested in Manila, following multiple estafa (fraud) allegations by his clients. The Manila Police District apprehended the individual in Tondo, Manila, after obtaining arrest warrants for estafa and syndicated estafa, which includes accusations against him and eight possible accomplices, with no bail option recommended.
According to reports, the arrest followed numerous complaints filed by individuals who claimed to have been defrauded by the suspect’s company. The complaints describe how clients were enticed by promises of reduced payment schemes for vehicles, only to find out later that the company failed to honor these agreements, leading to financial losses and the eventual closure of the company’s office.
Victims, like Crisostomo Dungca, shared experiences of the firm’s failure to maintain payment commitments, which led to suspicion and eventual realization of the scam. With the suspect now in custody and refraining from media comments, police are urging other victims to come forward to bolster the case and ensure justice.
This case highlights the importance of vigilance and due diligence in financial dealings, especially when attractive offers from trading companies seem too good to be true.
