Seven bakery workers were found dead in Antipolo City after being brutally attacked while they slept, police confirmed on Tuesday.
The violent incident occurred inside a bakery in Barangay Cupang. According to Police Regional Office 4A, the suspect allegedly entered the bakery and stabbed the victims during the early hours of the morning.
Authorities discovered the bodies around 6 a.m., with the crime reported to police by 8 a.m. “All seven male victims appeared to have been stabbed while sleeping,” the Rizal Police Provincial Office said in a statement.
The suspect was apprehended by 9 a.m. the same day at the Philippine National Police Headquarters Support Service and is now in police custody. He has undergone routine medical and physical examinations.
Investigators are still working to determine the motive behind the attack and are not ruling out the possibility of additional suspects being involved.
