The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has logged 46 monkeypox (Mpox) cases as of June 8, 2025, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced.
According to the MOH, the total includes eight confirmed cases, 31 suspected, and seven probable. Eight individuals have recovered, and the remaining patients are in recovery. No deaths have been reported.
Reassuring the public, the MOH emphasized that efforts are underway to contain the outbreak through close coordination with local governments and health agencies. Surveillance has been intensified, and medical care is being provided to those affected.
To prevent further spread, the MOH issued the following health reminders:
- Avoid close contact with people exhibiting flu-like symptoms
- Wash hands regularly and maintain good hygiene
- Don’t share personal items like clothing and towels
- Seek immediate medical attention if experiencing fever, joint pain, skin rashes, or lesions
- Isolate and inform local health authorities if symptoms appear
“We are actively collecting specimens for testing and enforcing isolation for confirmed and suspected cases,” the MOH stated, adding that designated health centers are ready to provide care while following strict safety protocols.
