Bea Alonzo’s representatives are set to meet with her former driver, Efren Delos Reyes Jr., for a conciliation-mediation conference on Wednesday. Delos Reyes has filed a labor complaint against the actress through the National Labor Relations Commission.
Delos Reyes’s complaint includes issues such as nightshift differential pay, overtime pay, holiday pay, 13th month pay, illegal dismissal, maltreatment, harassment, and separation pay. Alonzo’s legal counsel, Atty. Joey Garcia, provided GMA News Online with a copy of the complaint, which Alonzo received on June 25.
Garcia released a statement on Sunday, suggesting that the timing of the complaint is “highly suspect.” He indicated that Delos Reyes’s involvement as a witness in another case and his admitted relationship with one of the respondents may have influenced the filing of the complaint.
In May, Alonzo filed three criminal cases for cyber libel against Cristy Fermin, Ogie Diaz, and their co-hosts. She also filed a case against an “online basher” who pretended to be close to her, with Delos Reyes acknowledged as the lover of this individual.
Garcia emphasized that Delos Reyes only worked as a family service driver for three months and was never assigned as Alonzo’s personal driver for her professional engagements. He described the claims as “farfetched, unreasonable, if not unrealistic,” and labeled the complaint as a harassment case.
GMA News Online reached out to Delos Reyes for comment, but he declined to respond.
In her cyber libel complaints, Alonzo alleged that false and damaging information was spread about her, including accusations of not paying the correct tax, which were discussed on Fermin and Diaz’s online shows without basis.
