Veteran actress and humanitarian Rosa Rosal has passed away at the age of 97. Her family confirmed that she died in the early morning due to septic shock caused by pneumonia and kidney failure.

More than just a screen icon, Rosal was deeply involved in public service. For over seven decades, she volunteered with the Philippine Red Cross, championing blood donation and supporting welfare programs nationwide.

On the big screen, she was known for her roles in classic films like Anak Dalita, Badjao, and Biyaya ng Lupa. She also made her mark on television through long-running public service programs.

Rosa Rosal earned recognition not just for her artistic work, but also for her humanitarian efforts. She received prestigious honors such as the Ramon Magsaysay Award and the Order of the Golden Heart.
