Authorities have arrested Jorgeto Corpuz Santisas, also known as “Datu Adlaw”, the alleged leader of a bogus tribal group, in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte on Thursday morning, according to the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
Key Allegations Against Datu Adlaw & FTGP:
✔ Illegally padlocked establishments for failing to pay dues to the Federal Tribal Government of the Philippines (FTGP)
✔ Allegedly extorted money from members
✔ Not recognized by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)
CIDG Findings:
- 23 suspected FTGP members and 9 children were discovered in the area.
- Another supposed leader, Lourdes Infante Salinas, was also identified.
- In January, the group faced a complaint for alarm and scandal for shutting down establishments.
PNP-CIDG Chief Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III confirmed that documentation of the case is ongoing.
Authorities continue to crack down on fraudulent tribal organizations exploiting indigenous identities for personal gain.
