Authorities have arrested Jorgeto Corpuz Santisas, also known as “Datu Adlaw”, the alleged leader of a bogus tribal group, in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte on Thursday morning, according to the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Key Allegations Against Datu Adlaw & FTGP:
Illegally padlocked establishments for failing to pay dues to the Federal Tribal Government of the Philippines (FTGP)
Allegedly extorted money from members
Not recognized by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)

CIDG Findings:

  • 23 suspected FTGP members and 9 children were discovered in the area.
  • Another supposed leader, Lourdes Infante Salinas, was also identified.
  • In January, the group faced a complaint for alarm and scandal for shutting down establishments.

PNP-CIDG Chief Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III confirmed that documentation of the case is ongoing.

Authorities continue to crack down on fraudulent tribal organizations exploiting indigenous identities for personal gain.
