A chilling bomb threat disrupted classes at St. Theresa College in Tandag City, as students and staff were immediately evacuated when a message warning of an explosive device surfaced online.

According to authorities, the school’s administration promptly coordinated with the local police, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, K-9 unit, the city’s disaster management office and emergency response teams to sweep the campus for any danger. After a thorough inspection, no bomb was found and officials declared the area safe for operations.

The message, posted in a local online community group, warned in all caps: “Students from STC you all get out — there’s a bomb… someone blended in the crowd…” prompting swift action by school leadership.

In a public reminder, Lt. Col. Armando A. Martizano of the Tandag City Police Station emphasized that such threats—whether real or false—are criminal offenses under Presidential Decree 1727, punishable by up to five years imprisonment or fines.

The school administration expressed gratitude for the cooperation of authorities and the public, while also affirming that the safety of their community remains their top priority.
