The Pasig City Regional Trial Court (Branch 159) has once more rejected televangelist Apollo Quiboloy’s request to be placed under hospital arrest.
In an order dated October 8, the court ruled that Quiboloy’s medical treatment at the Pasig City General Hospital and supervision while detained at the Pasig City Jail are adequate and consistent with his needs.
Although Quiboloy, 75, cited his age and multiple health conditions — including hypertension, diabetes, kidney and heart disease — as grounds for seeking hospital custody at specialized facilities like Philippine Heart Center or The Medical City, the court found no “compelling reason” to approve the transfer.
Prosecutors had opposed his motion, highlighting that his age and illnesses do not set him apart from other detainees who face similar or worse conditions while in custody.
Quiboloy remains detained at the Pasig City Jail while facing charges in the Philippines, as well as separate indictments in the United States.
