Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s chart-topping duet, “Die With A Smile,” has made music history by becoming the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.
The streaming milestone was announced by Spotify in an Instagram post on Thursday, where the platform hailed the achievement as “legendary behavior.”
Lady Gaga took to Instagram to share her gratitude, writing, “I will completely cherish this moment. I’m so grateful to monsters and hooligans and so many people all over the world who fell in love with our song. I feel so lucky.”
Released in August, the emotional track pairs the powerhouse vocals of both artists with a heartfelt performance in its music video. Set in a 1950s-style radio station, the video features Bruno Mars on guitar and Lady Gaga on piano, both dressed in vintage Americana-inspired outfits.
This is the latest accolade for Gaga, who also performed at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony and starred as Harley Quinn in “Joker: Folie à Deux.” Bruno Mars, meanwhile, has been making waves with other high-profile collaborations, including his hit track “APT” with Blackpink’s Rosé.
