GUIGUINTO, BULACAN — Investigators from the Philippine National Police (PNP) are digging deep into the professional background of a billiards hall owner following a brazen daytime ambush that left two men dead and a community in shock.

The victims—identified as a local billiards hall patron and his driver—were gunned down while traveling in their vehicle, sparking a manhunt for the assailants who fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Initial reports from the Guiguinto Police Station suggest that the shooting was far from a random act of violence. The precision and timing of the ambush lead authorities to believe the victims were being trailed.

“We are looking at all possible angles, but a significant lead points toward a possible business rivalry,” a PNP spokesperson stated. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby establishments to identify the getaway vehicle and the number of gunmen involved.

  • Conflict of Interests: Authorities are interviewing family members and associates to determine if the victim had received death threats related to his business operations.
  • Forensic Evidence: Shell casings recovered from the scene are undergoing ballistic examination to see if the firearms used are linked to previous crimes.
  • Digital Footprint: Investigators are checking the victims’ mobile phones for any recent communications that might hint at a brewing dispute.

The incident has rattled residents in this typically quiet municipality. Local officials have called for increased police visibility, while the PNP has assured the public that they are doing everything possible to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“This kind of lawlessness has no place in our streets. We are working around the clock to identify the masterminds behind this hit,” the police added.

As of press time, the PNP has yet to name any specific suspects, but they have confirmed that a “Special Investigation Task Group” (SITG) may be formed if the case requires more specialized resources.
