Carla Abellana is opening up about her deeply personal journey to freeze her eggs, calling the experience both challenging and life-changing.

The Kapuso actress recently shared a video montage on Instagram documenting her visits to Conceive IVF Manila in Quezon City. The footage shows Carla undergoing ultrasounds, receiving injections, and getting blood work done—all part of the egg-freezing process.

“I lost count of how many injections I had to endure,” she wrote in the caption. “If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again!”

Carla explained she’ll need to go through another round of injections and tablet medications before her next clinic visit in three to four months.

Describing the entire experience as “transformative,” she highlighted the importance of research, emotional readiness, and being surrounded by the right medical team. She praised Dr. Ednalyn Ong-Jao, the clinic’s medical director, for explaining the process with care and clarity, and she thanked the nurses for their comforting presence.

“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone involved—their kindness, support, and expertise made all the difference,” Carla shared.

Egg freezing, medically known as oocyte cryopreservation, allows women to preserve their eggs for future use. Experts say this gives women more reproductive flexibility, without feeling pressured by biological timelines.

Carla, who recently starred in GMA’s hit series Widows’ War, mentioned in a previous interview that she planned to take a well-deserved vacation following the show’s finale in January.
