As Cebu continue to be resilient amidst lack of internet connection and power connection, various local government units have set up free charging stations and work from home areas to at least alleviate the sufferings of its respective constituents especially the working class. 

In Talisay City, Mayor Gerard Anthony “Samsam” Gullas was the first local chief executive in Cebu to come up with an idea of setting up a work from home spaces within the city hall vicinity which is availbale for 24/7.

As the need for more internet connection arises, the mayor plans to expand the work from home areas as he is appealing to internet providers to provide the workers a free internet connections. 

In Liloan town, Mayor Christina Frasco is offering the same services to that of Talisay City starting today, January 12, 2022 at the Liloan Municipal Hall Plaza from 9am to 7pm.

“The Liloan free co-working space is a service we are giving for FREE to help those whose homes have not yet been energized. Wala’y bayad, wala’y pili,” said Mayor Garcia-Frasco in a statement.

While Consolacion Mayor Joannes Alegado said that a work from home spaces will be made available from 6pm to 6am starting January 14, 2022 at the Vice Mayor’s Conference Hall and ABC Session Hall, 3rd Floor, Consolacion Government Center.

In Lapu-Lapu City, Lone District Representative Paz Radaza is providing her constituents a free mobile charging stations to the city’s 19 barangays in the mainland and eight island barangays. 

The mobile charging stations stays for two hours in specific barangay then transfer to another barangay so that more constituents can avail of such services.
