Former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson has launched his much-anticipated book “Chavit: Legend of the Philippines,” a deep dive into his life and legacy aimed at inspiring readers around the world.
Unveiled during a star-studded event at The Peninsula Manila, the book is not a typical autobiography but a comprehensive Q&A format, featuring nearly 700 questions answered by Singson himself. The launch was attended by notable friends from the entertainment industry, including Vina Morales, Pops Fernandez, Anabelle Rama, and Eddie Gutierrez.
Singson emphasized that one of the book’s key takeaways is the importance of credibility, especially in leadership. “If you want to succeed, protect your credibility. That’s what I’ve always guarded. Your word must be truthful,” he said, recalling advice from his father.
Authored by Polish writer Maciej Mikurda, the book took a year and a half to complete. Mikurda shared that condensing Singson’s eventful life into one volume was challenging, as “his life could fill ten books.”
Publisher Riza Hansen revealed ambitious plans to translate the book into 15 languages—starting with Arabic—and distribute it globally. Book launches are also planned in 20 world capitals to help share Singson’s story and Filipino history with a wider audience.
Aside from politics, Singson remains active in entertainment, recently backing the film “Samahan ng mga Makasalanan.” He hinted at another project with GMA Network, set to launch soon.
