The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is set to meet with Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) official Raul Villanueva this week to investigate claims that a former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief was linked to dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo.

According to PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, the CIDG is coordinating with Villanueva to “clear this issue once and for all.” The investigation follows allegations that the ex-PNP chief helped Guo leave the Philippines and was on her “monthly payroll.”

Fajardo emphasized that if evidence supports these claims, it would pose a serious “national security” concern. The PNP is currently reviewing the conduct of 24 former PNP chiefs out of the 30 who have served, as five have already passed away.

Alice Guo, linked to an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Bamban, Tarlac, was arrested in Indonesia and brought back to the Philippines to face charges including human trafficking and money laundering.

Meanwhile, the legal counsel of Cassandra Li Ong, also involved in the POGO-linked investigation, accused the House committees of overstepping their authority by citing Ong in contempt for the second time. Ong and Guo’s supposed sister were intercepted by Indonesian authorities and returned to the Philippines last month.

The investigation into Guo’s case continues, with CIDG and PAGCOR officials seeking to uncover the truth behind the allegations.
