Actress Claudine Barretto has severed ties with two close friends after they allegedly refused to support her in a legal dispute involving someone who misused her name to borrow money.

A Betrayal of Loyalty?

Taking to Instagram, Barretto expressed disappointment over their lack of loyalty, emphasizing that true friends should stand by the truth.

“The other day, I lost two people I thought were like family to me. It’s sad when people don’t understand the concept of loyalty—ang tatanda na natin, di pa rin alam ang meaning nito,” she wrote.

Barretto claimed she had already identified the culprit and reported them to the police, but her friends refused to testify as witnesses, opting to stay out of the issue.

A ‘Red Flag’ in Friendships

She warned her followers, whom she calls Palanggas, to be cautious of friends who refuse to stand by them in times of need.

“If a friend knows you are telling the truth but won’t stand up for you, that’s a red flag,” she stressed.

Though Barretto did not name those involved, she hinted that the person responsible had already caused several friendships to break apart.
