Kasalukuyang nakikipag-usap ang Office of the Vice President (OVP) sa Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) para makuha ang Coconut Palace bilang permanenteng tahanan at opisina ng kasalukuyan at mga susunod na Bise Presidente.
Ibinunyag ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang plano nitong Huwebes sa pagdinig ng Senate Finance Committee sa panukalang P2.3 bilyong budget ng OVP para sa 2023.
“Right now, we are talking to GSIS of properties under them that can be donated or sold to the OVP as a permanent property of the OVP,” ani Duterte.
“Right now, we are looking at one property only, and that is the Coconut Palace,” dagdag pa niya.
Gayunpaman, nilinaw niya na tinitingnan pa rin ng OVP ang iba pang pag-aari ng gobyerno na maaaring ibigay sa OVP bilang permanenteng opisina.
Idinagdag ni Duterte na ang OVP ay unang naglaan ng P10 milyon para sa downpayment para sa property para masiguro ang kontrata at hihingi ng karagdagang pondo sa mga susunod na taon para sa multi-year payments para sa property.
