A 22-year-old college student, Allan Vincent Eugenio, was shot dead in front of his home in Barangay Sumilang, Pasig City, early Monday morning during a motorcycle theft. Eugenio, who worked as a delivery rider, had just returned home when two men approached him as he was parking his motorcycle. One of the assailants drew a gun and shot Eugenio multiple times before stealing his motorcycle and fleeing the scene.
The victim’s mother, who heard four gunshots, rushed outside and found her son lying on the ground. Eugenio was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries after sustaining ten gunshot wounds.
Pasig City Police arrested two suspects, aged 19 and 20, within 24 hours of the incident. According to Police Colonel Hendrix Mangaldan, the suspects had previous charges for carnapping and attempted homicide, and their modus operandi involved shooting victims who resisted during motorcycle thefts.
