Cong TV and Viy Cortez have completed the “pamamanhikan,” a significant Filipino pre-wedding tradition, marking an important step in their journey to marriage.

On Instagram, soon-to-wed Viy and Cong were seen matching in white outfits, accompanied by their son Kidlat. In the following slides, Viy shared a larger group photo with their respective families.

“Ang pamamanhikan,” Viy captioned the post. “Salamat mahal hindi lang apelyido mo ang ibibigay mo sa ‘kin. Pati pangalawang pamilya,” she added, expressing gratitude for being welcomed into Cong’s family.

“Pamamanhikan” is a Filipino tradition where the groom and his family formally ask the bride’s family for her hand in marriage, fostering a bond between the two families.

Journey to Marriage

The long-time couple has shared several prenup photos over the past months. Cong and Viy announced their engagement in November 2022. In 2021, they revealed they were expecting their first child and later shared they were having a baby boy. They welcomed Zeus Emmanuel “Kidlat” Velasquez in July 2022.
