In a recent development surrounding the highly publicized breakup of Dominic Roque and Bea Alonzo, veteran broadcaster Cristy Fermin has firmly stated she will not be extending apologies, as she claims to have made no mention of specific individuals allegedly linked to the split.
During a segment on GMA News’ “24 Oras” aired Wednesday, Fermin addressed the accusations head-on, asserting her innocence in the matter. “Since I first touched on the breakup issue of Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque, I have never once uttered the name or even initials of Mayor Bullet Jalosjos, nor have I provided any clues about him,” Fermin clarified.
The broadcaster expressed her confusion over why Dapitan City Mayor Bullet Jalosjos and Congressman Bong Suntay felt compelled to speak out on the issue, emphasizing, “It was made explicitly clear that we never mentioned Dominic Roque having a benefactor in Mr. Bong Suntay.”
Fermin stood her ground, refusing to apologize for remarks she insists were never made. “I won’t seek forgiveness for something I didn’t say, especially not the claim that Dominic Roque lives in a condo owned by a gay politician,” she firmly stated.
Meanwhile, Congressman Suntay, involved in the controversy due to his ownership of a gasoline company, revealed that legal actions are being considered. “Bullet is also planning to file [a case]. I am in discussions with my legal team about our next steps. We’re still gathering evidence, so I can’t specify the defendant yet. Of course, we aim to file a robust case,” Suntay explained, highlighting their longstanding friendship with Roque and debunking rumors of gifting a gas station.
GMA Integrated News is in the process of obtaining comments from Dominic Roque and Mayor Bullet Jalosjos regarding the issue.
In a statement released Tuesday, Roque apologized to those unintentionally involved in the breakup saga due to “malicious, defamatory public innuendos” by Fermin. Roque also clarified his condominium arrangement with Jalosjos, which the mayor confirmed.
This episode continues to unfold as both Jalosjos and Suntay have come forward to clarify their relationship with Roque, stemming from a shared interest in motorcycles.
