Danica Sotto has broken her silence regarding the recent allegations of her husband Marc Pingris’ infidelity. In an interview on the “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast, Danica sought to clear up the rumors and provide clarity on the issue.
Addressing the Allegations
Danica revealed that at the height of the cheating allegations, she posted a quote about betrayal and loyalty on her Instagram Stories. This post was mistakenly connected to the rumors about Marc. However, Danica clarified that the quote was about someone else entirely, not her husband.
“I post because I like the quote or sometimes, noong time na iyon, aaminin ko, it was a feeling that I was feeling about someone else, na parang napipikon ako sa isang tao. And that is a person na nangloko sa amin sa negosyo. A person we truly trusted,” Danica explained.
Misinterpretation of Social Media Posts
Danica shared that the quote was misinterpreted by a tabloid, which linked it to the rumors about Marc. This led to widespread speculation. Danica and Marc discussed the incident and decided to be more cautious about posting quotes that could be misinterpreted.
“After the post, Danica said that she and Marc talked and agreed that they shouldn’t post quotes because these may be misinterpreted,” she said.
Communication and Moving On
Danica emphasized the importance of communication in their relationship, especially when dealing with public scrutiny. She also advised Marc to be careful with his interactions to avoid further misunderstandings.
“Tapos ako naman sa side ko, pinagsabihan ko lang siya na, ingat sa mga nakakasama, ingat sa mga pinupuntahan. Minsan kasi, sa’yo wala lang ‘yun, you’re too friendly or—hindi friendly, accommodating,” Danica noted.
Growing Up with Rumors
Having grown up in the showbiz industry, Danica mentioned that she is accustomed to rumors and has learned not to be affected by them. However, she admitted that she was frustrated when the false allegations began to impact her children.
“Syempre, napikon ako pag anak mo na ‘yung tinitira. May sasabihin na masama, na very very foul,” she said. “I think ‘yung foul doon is parang may mga sinabi na it’s the karma of my parents.”
Clarifying the Truth
In March, rumors circulated about Marc having an affair with actress Kim Rodriguez, based on viral photos of them with staff at a fries stand and at the Sydney Opera House. Both Marc and Kim denied these allegations.
“Walang katotohanan ang mga lumalabas na balita tungkol sa amin ni Ms. Kim Rodriguez. Walang namamagitan sa aming dalawa gaya ng sinasabi ng ibang tao,” Marc said in a statement on social media. He affirmed that everything was fine between him and Danica, asking for respect for their family and children.
