David Charlton, the renowned hairdresser and founder of David’s Salon in the Philippines, has passed away at the age of 69, as confirmed by the salon’s management. Charlton, born into a family of hairdressers in England, began his career at 16 and moved to the Philippines in 1978. He eventually opened his own salon, David’s Salon, which grew into a popular chain with numerous branches across the country, offering professional services at accessible prices.
Charlton’s impact extended beyond his salons, working with notable Filipino celebrities, including beauty queen Bea Rose Santiago and TV host Christine Bersola, who both expressed their sorrow and paid tribute to his generosity and humor.
His wake will be open for public viewing from Wednesday, October 30, until Saturday, November 2, at The Chapels Heritage Park in Taguig, with a final Mass scheduled for Sunday, November 3, at 1 p.m.
