David Licauco has been lauded for his acting skills by Suzette Doctolero, the writer of the series “Pulang Araw.”
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Doctolero commended David for his significant improvement as an actor.
“David has proven himself to be an excellent actor, keeping up with the best. All artists, regardless of their network, should always be given a chance to hone their craft, and David has done just that. He truly embodies Hiroshi Tanaka. Arigato gozaimasu, David!” she wrote.
David’s character, Hiroshi Tanaka, is portrayed as the son of Japanese immigrants living in the Philippines.
“Pulang Araw” follows the complex lives of four childhood friends—Adelina (Barbie Forteza), Teresita (Sanya Lopez), Hiroshi (David Licauco), and Eduardo (Alden Richards)—set against the backdrop of the period before and during World War II.
The series airs on GMA Prime on weekdays at 8 p.m. and is also available for streaming on Netflix.
