In observance of National Heroes Day, Vice President Sara Duterte highlighted the values of bravery, compassion for others, and honest service to the country.
In her statement, Duterte emphasized that true tribute to the nation’s heroes comes through being responsible citizens who embody the values shared by all Filipinos.
“This National Heroes Day, let us honor our heroes who sacrificed their lives for our country’s freedom. May our reflection on our history teach us lessons in determination, bravery, love for our fellow citizens, and honest service to the nation,” Duterte said.
She further expressed hope that the heroism displayed by the country’s forebears would inspire every Filipino, particularly the youth, to awaken their inner hero.
“Let their greatness inspire us and awaken the heroes hidden in the hearts of every Filipino, especially among our youth,” she added.
Duterte also emphasized the importance of striving for a free, prosperous, and peaceful nation.
