The Department of Education-Davao (DepEd-11) is launching an investigation into the tragic death of a teacher from Pantukan, Davao de Oro, who reportedly passed away due to stress after being berated by her principal.
DepEd-11 spokesperson Jenielito Atillo confirmed that a dialogue will be held, with the principal involved expected to attend.
The incident gained attention after social media posts suggested that the teacher, who had been taken to the hospital, died following an alleged confrontation with the principal. The situation reportedly stemmed from a complaint by a parent, whose child was injured inside the classroom.
In a group chat, the teacher explained that she was checking papers when the child hit his head on a chair while dancing, causing an injury.
DepEd-Davao de Oro extended its condolences to the teacher’s family and assured the public of a thorough investigation into the matter.
