A tragic fire in Sampaloc, Manila, claimed the life of a female employee early Tuesday morning. According to reports from GMA News’ James Agustin, the fire broke out at a restaurant located along G. Tuazon Street.
The establishment, housed on the first floor of a four-storey commercial building, caught fire at around 3:45 a.m. Firefighters, led by Fire Sr. Insp. Cesar Mabante of Station 5 BFP Manila, managed to control and extinguish the blaze by 4:13 a.m.
The victim, a stay-in worker at the eatery, was unable to escape the fire.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
