MANILA — Actor Derek Ramsay has slammed Andi Eigenmann and her fiancé, Philmar Alipayo, for what he calls “irresponsible posting”, which led to Swedish entrepreneur Pernilla Sjoo facing public backlash and even death threats.
Defending Pernilla Sjoo
The controversy erupted after Eigenmann and Alipayo publicly aired their relationship troubles, implying that Sjoo was involved as a third party. However, Ramsay insists that Sjoo is happily in a relationship, and the accusations against her are unfair and damaging.
“She’s happily in a relationship. Her boyfriend knows everything. Let’s get all the facts here. This is not about being biased,” Ramsay told Ogie Diaz in an interview.
He criticized Eigenmann for making a “betrayal post” without thinking about its consequences.
“Acting on emotions without thinking—that was wrong. I understand if you were mad, Andi, but you shouldn’t have posted that.”
Criticism for Philmar Alipayo
Ramsay also called out Alipayo for failing to apologize to Sjoo despite the backlash she received.
“Philmar finally commented, saying, ‘Okay na kami (We’re okay now). This should have been handled privately.’ But what about Pernilla? She’s your close friend, and you hurt her. You didn’t even apologize.”
He urged Alipayo to take responsibility for his actions:
“You should have the balls to be a man. Fix your problem with your wife first before putting it out in public.”
Impact on Sjoo’s Mental Health
Ramsay revealed that Sjoo is struggling emotionally, deeply affected by the situation.
“She is not okay. She is crying her eyes out every day. Her mental health is so affected.”
He also confirmed that Sjoo tried reaching out to Eigenmann to apologize, despite not being at fault.
Ramsay Advises Sjoo to Cut Ties
With everything that happened, Ramsay said he advised Sjoo to end her friendship with Eigenmann and Alipayo, stating:
“She proved she’s a good friend by staying silent. But I told her—just cut them off.”
With tensions high and emotions running deep, it remains to be seen how Eigenmann and Alipayo will respond to Ramsay’s strong statements.
