Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against CBS on Thursday, alleging that a recent 60 Minutes interview with Democratic opponent Kamala Harris was misleadingly edited. The lawsuit, submitted to federal court in the Northern District of Texas, claims CBS omitted portions of Harris’s response to a question on U.S. influence over Israel’s actions in its conflict with Hamas, characterizing her comments as “word salad.”

CBS News denied any wrongdoing, stating, “The lawsuit Trump has brought today against CBS is completely without merit, and we will vigorously defend against it.” CBS also noted that Trump canceled his own planned 60 Minutes appearance.

The lawsuit seeks a jury trial and up to $10 billion in damages, citing a Texas law against deceptive business practices. The legal clash comes in the final days of a close race between Harris and Trump, with the election just days away.
