Tensions cooled inside the Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition house as Dustin Yu and AZ Martinez finally had a heart-to-heart over the “crush” teasing that had been making things awkward.
In Sunday night’s episode, the two Sparkle artists opened up about the dynamic between them. AZ had previously admitted to fellow housemates that she once had a crush on Dustin and even dreamt about him. But Dustin has been keeping his distance—mainly out of respect for AZ’s current boyfriend, Larkin Castor, who also happens to be his friend.
“I’m just avoiding the teasing, not because I assume anything. I just don’t want things to be taken the wrong way, especially since I know Larkin,” Dustin explained. “When people watch this, especially Larkin, what will he think?”
AZ acknowledged she initially played along with the housemates’ jokes but decided to pull back once she sensed Dustin’s discomfort. “At first I was just going along with the fun, but I didn’t want to make things weird,” she said.
Dustin, while assuring her there was no issue, explained that being teased makes him go quiet out of embarrassment—it’s just how he is. The two ultimately agreed there was no malice involved, and they laughed off the misunderstanding.
Dustin has gained praise from viewers online for respecting boundaries and honoring the “bro code,” with many calling him a “green flag.”
