A road rage incident in Antipolo City escalated into a shooting on Sunday afternoon, injuring three individuals before the suspect was apprehended during a police pursuit.

According to Antipolo police, the confrontation happened around 5 p.m. along Marcos Highway in Barangay San Jose. The victims include a 52-year-old businessman (“Peter”) who suffered a head wound, a 22-year-old student (“Patrick”) shot in the arm, and a 29-year-old man (“Davis”) hit in the chest while trying to intervene. All were taken to Cabading Hospital for treatment.

The suspect, a 28-year-old businessman named “Kenneth,” attempted to escape in a black Toyota Fortuner but was stopped at a checkpoint in Barangay Mayamot, Masinag. He is now in police custody.

Antipolo police chief Lt. Col. Ryan Lopez Manongdo called on witnesses to come forward, while Rizal police director Col. Felipe Maraggun revealed the suspect lacked a Certificate of Authority to carry a firearm during the nationwide election gun ban. The motive behind the confrontation is still under investigation but is believed to be traffic-related.
