Inilabas ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang kanyang unang dalawang executive order noong Huwebes, na alisin ang Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) at ang Office of the Cabinet Secretary, gayundin ang muling pag-aayos at pagpapalit ng pangalan sa Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) sa ang Office of the Press Secretary.
Ang anti-corruption function ng PACC ay hahawakan na ngayon ng Office of the Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs.
Habang nahaharap ang bansa sa krisis sa kalusugan, ekonomiya at pananalapi, nakasaad sa Executive Order No. 1 “that the state that the administration will streamline processes in the Office of the President and eliminate “duplicated and overlapping official functions.”
Ang Presidential Management Staff ang mangangasiwa sa Cabinet Secretariat, na tumutulong sa pangulo sa mga negosasyon sa Gabinete.
Ayon sa Section 7 ng kautusan, magsusumbong ang Presidential Adviser on Military and Police Affairs sa Office of the Special Assistant to the President, na pinamumunuan ni dating Davao del Norte congressman Antonio Lagdameo Jr.
Samantala, inilabas din ni Marcos Jr. ang Executive Order No. 2, na nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez. Ang order ay may petsang Hunyo 30 ngunit nakuha lamang ng media noong Huwebes, Hulyo 7.
Iniutos ng pangulo na muling ayusin ang PCOO at palitan ang pangalan ng Office of the Press Secretary, sa pamumuno ni Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles.
Ang Office of the Presidential Spokesperson ay epektibong mapapawalang-bisa bilang resulta nito. Malinaw na binanggit ni Marcos na hindi siya magtatalaga ng presidential spokesperson, sa halip ay pipili siya ng press secretary at mismong ang media ang humarap.
“There is a need to rationalize and consolidate the communications arm of the administration for a more efficient delivery of public policy to the public,” ang nakasaad sa EO 2.
Ipinag-utos din ni Marcos na patatagin ang Philippine Information Agency sa ilalim ng direksyon at pangangasiwa ng Tanggapan ng Pangulo. (Photo:Presidential Communications)
