Filipino rocket scientist Dr. Rogel Mari Sese believes the Philippines is ready to take a bold leap into space. In a recent statement, Sese emphasized that the country now has both the talent and the technology to pursue its space ambitions more seriously.
According to Sese, investing in space programs is not just about launching rockets—it’s about strengthening national security, improving disaster response, and fostering innovation. He noted that many Filipino scientists and engineers are already contributing to international space projects, proving that local expertise is on par with global standards.
Sese, who once led the country’s National Space Development Program, encouraged the government and private sector to continue building the local space ecosystem. He stressed that the Philippines must move from small satellite initiatives to larger, more ambitious projects that could place the nation among Asia’s emerging space players.
“The Philippines has the brainpower and the vision,” Sese said. “Now, it’s time to take action and make our space dreams a reality.”
