A fire erupted on Sunday morning in a commercial-residential building on Labores Street, Pandacan, Manila—the second day of Fire Prevention Month.

According to a report from Super Radyo dzBB, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) received the initial report at 7:48 a.m., prompting the declaration of the first alarm. By 8:02 a.m., the fire escalated to the second alarm. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control, and it was officially declared out by 9:02 a.m.

The BFP recently launched Fire Prevention Month with an awareness campaign in Biñan, Laguna, emphasizing the heightened risk of fires in March due to increased electricity consumption and dry weather conditions.

No casualties or injuries have been reported in the Pandacan fire as of this writing. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
