A large fire broke out early Tuesday morning in a residential neighborhood on Onyx Street near Sagrada Familia, Barangay 775, Sta. Ana, Manila. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported that the fire alarm was first raised at 6:12 a.m. and quickly escalated, reaching the fourth alarm by 6:48 a.m. Approximately 13 firetrucks responded to the scene to contain the blaze.

The fire, which was under control by 8:46 a.m., affected around 300 families and destroyed roughly 100 homes, with estimated damages reaching P3 million. No casualties have been reported, but the narrow streets in the area made firefighting efforts challenging. Many residents helped with containment efforts while salvaging personal belongings from their homes.

Authorities have closed Onyx Street to traffic due to the presence of emergency vehicles.
