Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo is being held in a non-airconditioned room at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
GMA Integrated News reporter Mariz Umali shared images of Guo’s detention room on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday. The room is described as “ordinary,” featuring white walls, a metal-framed single bed, a small round table, monoblock chairs, and a plastic bucket with a dipper in the toilet. This is the same room where former senator Leila de Lima was previously held.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos assured the public that Guo will not receive special treatment. “No cellphone, no aircon, just like an ordinary detainee,” Abalos said.
Guo was arrested in Tangerang City, Indonesia, on Wednesday and returned to the Philippines early Friday morning.
