Gabbi Garcia, renowned for her stunning Morena beauty, has not always felt confident about her Filipina complexion. The actress, often hailed as the “Queen of the Morenas,” recently shared her journey of self-acceptance and empowerment in an interview alongside her latest skin product endorsement.
Gabbi recalled the challenges of her early career, where she faced frequent rejections at auditions due to not fitting the traditional beauty standards. “I remember when I was younger I would often be rejected [from] almost all of my auditions because I didn’t fit the standards of what ‘beautiful’ is before,” she shared. It wasn’t until high school that Gabbi decided she was tired of feeling insecure about her appearance.
Over time, Gabbi has cultivated a strong sense of self-worth, greatly aided by a supportive circle of friends and family. She emphasized the importance of recognizing that beauty is not a one-size-fits-all concept. “Hindi ka nag-iisa (You are not alone). I also suffer. I have bad days also. But you just have to power through it,” Gabbi advised, highlighting her own practices like working out and doing breathing exercises to maintain a positive self-image.
Gabbi also ensures that her endorsements align with her personal advocacy for self-love and embracing one’s natural beauty. She spoke about the importance of feeling good in one’s skin, regardless of color: “Even if you’re morena, you also need to glow, to be radiant, to be comfortable about your skin.”
Since her debut in the entertainment industry, Gabbi has grown to love and embrace her morena skin more deeply. She remarked on the positive shift in her self-perception, noting, “Mas lalo kong minahal ‘yung sarili ko (I have learned to love myself more). Mas lalo kong iniembrace na ‘Ah morena ako. It’s okay. You stand out. It’s fine.'”
Addressing the topic of body goals, especially during the summer, Gabbi stressed the importance of focusing on health over aesthetics. “Dapat ang body goals, all year round,” she stated, emphasizing sustainability and well-being as the ultimate goals.
Gabbi Garcia’s message is clear: embracing and loving oneself are crucial steps towards true beauty and happiness.
