Gabbi Garcia expressed heartfelt sadness over the closure of Ogawa, a Japanese restaurant at The Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City, which held a special place in her and boyfriend Khalil Ramos’ love story.

On Instagram, Gabbi shared that Ogawa was the venue of their first date in 2017 and had since become their go-to spot for anniversaries.

“Ogawa has always been so sentimental to us. It’s become a tradition to go back to every anniversary, order the same meals, and relive the memories of our first date,” Gabbi wrote.

A Special Connection

The actress revealed how emotional the couple felt seeing the restaurant shuttered after years of celebrating milestones there.

“Seeing it closed broke our hearts! We were so sad, and yes, I was crying,” she added.

Gabbi shared photos of their moments at Ogawa, spanning from their first date to more recent visits.

The Fort Strip’s Closure

The closure of Ogawa comes as The Fort Strip undergoes indefinite renovation starting January 2025. Other iconic establishments like Nectar Nightclub, Yes Please, and Samgyuniku have also closed due to the development.

Despite the sadness, Gabbi remains hopeful for Ogawa’s reopening, saying,

“We hope they reopen someday so we can celebrate there again.”

Gabbi’s New Year Highlights

In a separate event, Gabbi hosted the New Year Countdown in BGC for 2025 alongside actor Mikael Daez, continuing her streak as one of the Kapuso network’s beloved talents.
