Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has won another term in Congress, continuing her political legacy as the representative of Pampanga’s Second District.

The Commission on Elections officially proclaimed Arroyo on Tuesday afternoon at the new legislative building in the provincial capitol. Running unopposed in the 2025 elections, the 78-year-old veteran lawmaker clinched her second consecutive term since returning to Congress in 2022.

Arroyo, who led the country as president from 2001 to 2010, has long been a fixture in Philippine politics. She previously served in the House from 2010 to 2019 before a brief hiatus and eventual comeback.

Before her presidency, Arroyo was a senator (1992–1998), vice president (1998–2001), and undersecretary of trade and industry (1987–1992).
