Heart Evangelista has sold one of her hand-painted Hermès bags and donated the proceeds to the Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. (SSFI).
According to Sparkle GMA Artist Center, the bag was sold for P1.5 million, with the full amount going to support the foundation’s future projects. Kat Pimentel, wife of Senator Koko Pimentel, and Nancy, wife of Senator Ronald Dela Rosa, received the donation and expressed their gratitude for Heart’s generosity.
“This will really go a long way and help a lot of underprivileged Filipino people,” Pimentel said. “Thank you very much.”
Heart, who took the oath as the new head of the SSFI in June, shared that she sought advice from her husband, Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero, due to initial nervousness about her new role. She also received support from her predecessor, Audrey Tan-Zubiri.
Under Heart’s leadership, the SSFI plans to focus on initiatives for women and children and continue small infrastructure projects started by previous leaders.
Heart, who often describes her Hermès bag paintings as expressions of her soul, previously mentioned that painting on these luxury bags is a “safe investment” and a way to restore damaged bags.
