Senator Risa Hontiveros released documents on Thursday that suggest a connection between Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and Lin Wen Yi, who is suspected to be her biological mother.
According to the documents, Lin Wen Yi is an incorporator in several of Guo’s businesses, alongside Guo’s siblings Sheila and Siemen Guo, and her father, Jian Zhong Guo.
“Are they all related? Is this one big, dubious family business? As Senator Win Gatchalian noted, travel records show that Jian Zhong Guo and Lin Wen Yi traveled together at least 170 times over six years,” Hontiveros stated.
She questioned whether Lin and Jian Zhong Guo were merely business partners or if they were married.
GMA News Online has contacted Guo for a response, but has yet to receive a reply. Previously, Guo claimed her mother was a helper in her father’s household and had left shortly after her birth.
“For my countrymen who trust and love me, I bravely admit that I am a love child of my father with his maid,” Guo stated. She added, “My biological mother left me when I was a child. I was raised and kept strictly hidden inside a farm.”
Hontiveros mentioned that if Lin Wen Yi is indeed Guo’s mother, she would have been only 15 years old at the time of Guo’s birth and just 13 when Sheila was born, raising further questions.
“Unless all of these are lies,” Hontiveros added.
She also highlighted that this is not the first time Guo has been accused of dishonesty, pointing out that Guo initially claimed not to know her siblings, despite evidence of their travels together.
“She has been lying through her teeth the past two hearings. She fabricates a lot of things,” Hontiveros said.
The senator emphasized the importance of verifying Guo’s mother’s identity.
“If her mother is Chinese, and her father is Chinese, then we cannot prove that she is Filipino,” Hontiveros noted.
Aside from questions about her identity, Guo is under scrutiny for her alleged involvement in a raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Bamban, Tarlac, in March. Guo has denied any involvement in the POGO hub’s operations.
“I deny in the strongest terms all of these allegations of criminal conduct,” Guo stated in April.
