Derek Ramsay recently disclosed that his wife, Ellen Adarna, experienced a miscarriage. This news emerged during Ramsay’s media conference for the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Kampon.” The couple discovered Ellen’s pregnancy while vacationing in Spain but unfortunately lost the baby shortly afterward. Ramsay shared that they became aware of the pregnancy when Ellen’s menstrual cycle, which is typically regular, was delayed. During their trip, Ellen took a pregnancy test that confirmed she was pregnant. However, on their return journey, she began experiencing spotting, an early sign of miscarriage. Thankfully, the miscarriage occurred early in the pregnancy and did not require any major medical intervention.
Despite this heartrending experience, Ramsay and Adarna, who wed in 2021, remain hopeful about expanding their family. Adarna had ceased smoking after 17 years in preparation for pregnancy. The couple, who both have sons from previous relationships, had expressed their desire to have a baby this year, with Adarna specifically wishing for a daughter.
