Cebu City’s three political parties are now united to defeat a one common political enemy.
Kugi Uswag Sugbo or Kusug, Partido Barug and Partido Panaghiusa are now forming a unified front in order to attain a landslide victory against all the candidates of Bando Osmeńa Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK), Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino revealed today, September 23, 2021
Dino said that under the unified ticket, acting Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama will run for mayor and incumbent City Councilor Raymund Garcia will be Rama’s running mate.
Former City Councilor Jose “Joey” Daluz III, who revived Partido Panaghiusa, a political party founded by his late mother-broadcaster Nenita “Inday Nita” Daluz, will be the unified party’s campaign manager.
Kusug is a political party founded by Raymund’s father, former Cebu City Mayor Alvin Garcia which was launched in June 2021.
BARUG, is another political party founded by Rama and has been affiliated with PDP-Laban since 2018.
Although the three political leaders have expressed their unity in the upcoming elections, they have yet to announce the names of their entire and official slate.
The Commission on Elections has set the schedule for the filing of the certificates of candidacy from October 1 to October 8, 2021. (By: April Therese Tan)
