In escalating tensions, Israel launched airstrikes on Hezbollah arms facilities in southern Beirut on Saturday after the Lebanese group fired rockets into northern Israel. A Hezbollah-launched drone also reportedly targeted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s holiday home, though he was not present at the time.

Netanyahu called the drone attack an “assassination attempt” by Hezbollah, which he labeled as an Iranian proxy, vowing severe retaliation for both this incident and a recent missile barrage from Iran. Israel’s military struck several locations in Beirut, targeting Hezbollah’s weapons storage facilities and intelligence centers. The strikes come amid ongoing hostilities between Israel and militant groups, including Hamas and Hezbollah.

In Gaza, Israeli airstrikes continue to intensify, with over 100 people killed in recent bombardments. These strikes are part of Israel’s year-long campaign against Hamas, the Palestinian militant group controlling Gaza. Leaflets dropped over Gaza on Saturday depicted Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, stating that Hamas will no longer rule the region.

Despite Sinwar’s death earlier this week, hopes for a ceasefire remain bleak as both Israel and Hezbollah pledge to continue fighting. With U.S. elections approaching, analysts suggest Israel aims to intensify operations to secure its borders and prevent further regrouping by its adversaries.
