Real-life couple Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo are teaming up for the first time as husband and wife in GMA’s upcoming series Sanggang Dikit FR. Despite their personal connection, both actors stressed the importance of keeping things professional on set.
At the show’s media conference, Jennylyn shared that their roles as parents and spouses stay at home. “When we’re on set, we’re actors first. Even if we’re dealing with personal issues, we leave them behind while filming,” she said. She also emphasized that they give each other honest feedback about their performances.
Dennis echoed this sentiment, saying that even though they spend a lot of time together, they never get tired of each other. “When love is present, it doesn’t matter how often you’re together—you still enjoy each other’s company,” he said.
In the series, Jennylyn plays Bobby Enriquez, a cheerful but competitive police officer, while Dennis portrays Tonyo Guerrero, a resourceful cop known for solving cases in unconventional ways. The duo is drawn together by a personal tragedy linked to a high-profile murder case.
The show also features scenes filmed in Europe and the UAE, and it premieres on June 23 at 8:50 p.m. on GMA Prime.
