Karylle, the “It’s Showtime” host, shared the sad news of her father Modesto Tatlonghari’s passing on Sunday.

In an Instagram post, Karylle posted photos from the wake and some family memorabilia. She reminisced about her fondest memories with her dad, celebrating his zest for life.

“His philosophy in life was that if your white rubber shoes (or sneakers) weren’t dirty enough, it meant you didn’t play or have enough fun,” Karylle wrote. “He was always in for the fun!”

She described him as “Tito M,” everyone’s dream dad, always present and involved in school events. “I was always lucky because he was my dad,” she added.

Karylle also mentioned that her dad left behind a safe filled with photos. “There’s likely also a photo of you that he took. Don’t worry if you haven’t received yours, it just means I haven’t given it to you yet,” she said. “He treasured the people he loved the most, and you’ve been kept safe in his heart of hearts.”

She expressed her happiness that her dad was able to watch her latest play, “Little Shop of Horrors,” four times. “‘Little Shop of Horrors’ was our favorite movie and, like him, a happy part of my childhood,” she said.

“I will always love him and miss him. Thank you, Lord, for Papa M,” Karylle concluded.
