Actor Ken Chan has broken his silence regarding the syndicated estafa case filed against him, emphasizing that he did not deceive anyone and that the business he established simply failed.
Addressing the Accusations
In a statement shared on Instagram, Chan explained that his café business, Café Claus, which operated three branches, incurred financial losses and eventually shut down.
“Hindi po ako nanloko ng tao, naitayo po ang negosyo ngunit hindi ito nagtagumpay,” he said.
He disputed the P14 million figure mentioned in the complaint, stating that the amount and details have been exaggerated by the complainant.
“Hindi po dahil ito ang amount na isinampa laban sa akin ay ito na ang buong katotohanan,” Chan said.
The actor vowed to release the full story and clarified that he has already taken legal action to address the allegations.
“Kaunting panahon po at ilalabas ko lahat ang katotohanan kung bakit nangyari ito sa kumpanya,” he added.
Claims of Sabotage
Chan also pointed to internal conflicts within the business as a significant factor in its failure.
“Nalugi po ang Café Claus at isa sa malaking dahilan na rin ay dahil sa ilang business partners namin na nagplano para pabagsakin ang kumpanya at patuloy na sirain ang aking pangalan,” he claimed.
He expressed faith that he will overcome the situation with God’s help and asked supporters to continue praying for him.
Denial of Evasion
Chan denied claims that he is evading authorities, stating he is actively fighting the case.
“Lumalaban po ako at hindi tumatakbo palayo sa isinampang kaso sa akin,” he asserted.
Authorities have reportedly tried to serve the arrest warrant at his Quezon City residence twice but failed to locate him at home.
Ken Chan’s statement comes amid efforts to clear his name and address what he describes as exaggerated accusations. He assured the public that he remains committed to revealing the truth behind the company’s financial troubles.
