Kim Ji Soo, a popular actor under Sparkle, is set to portray a father for the first time in the upcoming Filipino film Mujigae.

In a report on Unang Balita on Thursday, Ji Soo shared that he accepted the role due to the touching storyline centered around the child character, Mujigae. The actor mentioned that this project is also a great opportunity for him to further improve his Filipino language skills.

Recently, Ji Soo gave fans a sneak peek of the Mujigae set through his Instagram, posting photos with child actress Ryrie Turingan. Directed by Randolph Longjas, the film also stars Rufa Mae Quinto and Alexa Ilacad.

Mujigae is set to premiere in cinemas nationwide on October 9.

Kim Ji Soo signed a management contract with Sparkle in August and has since gained attention for his roles in GMA Network’s Black Rider as Adrian Park and the top-rating series Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap as Dr. Kim Young. He also made headlines at the GMA Gala, winning the Red Carpet Scene Stealer Award, and participated in Typhoon Carina relief efforts through the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
