Kyline Alcantara has admitted feeling nervous as she steps back into the role of a kontrabida (antagonist) in the Philippine adaptation of the popular K-drama “Shining Inheritance.”
In a recent media conference, the Sparkle star shared that playing an antagonist was once her comfort zone.
She revealed she specifically requested to take on a kontrabida character again, expressing her longing to portray a complex role once more.
In “Shining Inheritance,” Kyline introduces viewers to Joanna Dela Costa, a character layered with complexity.
“Joanna is really complicated. Sobra. And Joanna’s feisty, she’s aggressive also.
Kyline also teased that her character will have several intense confrontations with Kate Valdez’s character.
When discussing how they handle these scenes, Kyline shared, “Yakapan muna po, pag-uusapan namin, ‘Tototohanin ba natin?’
She acknowledged that despite their professionalism, there are moments when things get physically intense on set. So, alam namin na trabaho ‘to,” she added.
Kyline was last seen playing an antagonist in “Kambal, Karibal.” Now, she is set to bring a fresh take to her new role in “Shining Inheritance,” alongside co-stars Coney Reyes, Michael Sager, Paul Salas, and others.
The original “Shining Inheritance,” starring Lee Seung Gi, Han Hyo Joo, Moon Chae Won, and Bae Soo Bin, tells the story of a woman from a wealthy family who suddenly loses everything after her father’s death.
The Philippine adaptation of “Shining Inheritance” will premiere on September 9 at 4 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime.
