Tinanggap ni Vice Presidential candidate na si Senator Ping Lacson at Senator Grace Poe ang desisyon ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) na ipagliban ang fuel subsidy sa mga transport sector sa election spending ban.

“Way to go and kudos to Comelec for acting expeditiously on such a no-brainer issue involving fuel subsidy grant under the 2022 special provision under the (Department of Transportation) budget,” ayon kay Lacson sa isang mensahe niya sa isang reporter.

Sa isang interview ni Lacson iginiit ng Senador na ang social services at ang financial assistance mula sa gobyerno ay hindi dapat kasangkot sa election spending ban.

Sa kabilang banda ayon na kay Poe na Chairman ng Senator Committee on public services, ang desisyon na huwag idawit a fuel subsidy ay naayon lang sa sitwasyon ngayon.

“The order to allow the resumption of fuel subsidy distribution to public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators is a timely response by the Commission on Elections,” ayon sa kanya.
