The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) temporarily halted its operations on Friday morning, October 17, due to a technical issue with one of its trains. The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the operator of the line, confirmed that a train fault caused the disruption, prompting immediate safety checks and system assessments.
The affected train was quickly removed from the tracks to prevent further inconvenience, and normal operations resumed after safety clearance was given. LRMC apologized for the temporary disruption and assured passengers that maintenance teams are continuously monitoring the system to prevent similar incidents.
The LRT-1 serves thousands of commuters daily along the Baclaran–Roosevelt route, making even short interruptions a major concern for passengers during rush hours.
